All-Class Tournament

This Monday (after-school), all 29 cars will compete in an all-class tournament, to determine which car is the best.  These races are based on pure speed and no obstacles will be in play.  Students are welcome to stay afterschool and watch/participate in the races.  Cars are grouped by seed, so that no car races a car from another class in the first or second round.

Here are photos of the class tournament brackets, which represent three days of racing. It is interesting to note that in 2nd and 4th period, the class champion came out of the loser's bracket, and in 3rd period, the last seeded car worked its way up.

Low-Flying Aircraft

In this special racing challenge, each car was faced with an airplane in their lane, which the opposing team released, allowing it to swing towards the car on its approach to the finish line. Some cars survived by dodging the plane, others were hit head on and lost all of their momentum.
